On his Truth Social platform, the president-elect responded to reports that he is considering the move to ensure that military resources are used to deport foreign criminals who have entered the country illegally.
Trump made immigration a central component of his successful bid for the White House, which enabled him to win a landslide victory over Vice President Kamala Harris.
Caroline Leavitt, spokeswoman for the Trump-Vance transition, told Newsweek: “President Trump will use all necessary federal and state authority to carry out the largest deportation operation in American history for illegal criminals, drug traffickers and human traffickers, while reducing costs for families.
