In the evening on Sunday, November 17, the army of the aggressor country Russia launched a missile attack on Sumy. The Russians targeted critical infrastructure and densely populated areas.
As a result of hitting the residential building, 12 people died, among them two children – 9 and 14 years old. Another 89 people were injured of various degrees of severity.
“It felt like everything in the apartment was put through a meat grinder,” a resident of a high-rise building in Sumy, who survived a Russian missile strike, told NV.
In the Sumy OVA, it was noted that the Russians wanted to strike “used ballistic missiles in cluster equipment, which have a great striking effect.”
“I was in the epicenter of the explosion, it was pure horror. All I remember is flashes of fire, debris flying, and me yelling “lay down.” We quickly go to the kitchen, and there are children in the kitchen who started screaming. Then I see blood starting to flow, everything is covered in blood,” says another witness to the attack.
According to the man, the injured girl was taken to the intensive care unit with a skull fracture.
“My wife has blood all over her fur coat, a bump on her head. The owner of the apartment, my friend, to whom we came, has a completely broken arm,” he added.
At 20:37 on November 17, Russian troops launched a missile attack on the city of Sumy. An enemy missile hit a densely populated residential neighborhood of the city.
Later, at 00:10, the enemy launched a rocket attack on the city’s critical infrastructure.
November 18 and 19 have been declared days of mourning in Sumy. The corresponding order was signed by at. of the mayor Artem Kobzar.
