The Russian military attacked Odesa at 11:57 a.m. on November 18 with an Iskander-M ballistic missile, which was shot down by air defense fighters, the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

“Unfortunately, a downed enemy missile fell into the residential sector of the city’s Primorye district and caused a lot of grief. There are dead and wounded. We express our condolences to the family and friends,” the message stated.

In addition, according to the Ukrainian military, at 11:45 a.m. on the approach to Odesa, air defense equipment shot down the Russian Orlan-10 UAV, which “was allegedly sent for aerial reconnaissance.”

According to reports from the local authorities, 10 people were victims of the Russian missile strike, and more than 30 others were injured.

A day earlier, the local authorities reported two deaths, an injured teenager and interruptions in the supply of heat, water and electricity in Odesa due to the Russian strike on November 17. Two of the dead were employees of Ukrenergo.

The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, rockets, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.

The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.

The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes of the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
