An anti-war rally of the Russian opposition organized by Yulia Navalna, Ilya Yashin and Volodymyr Kara-Murza took place in the center of Berlin. According to the organizers, about 3,000 people took part in the action. This was reported by the Russian edition of Deutsche Welle.

Its organizers, other Russian oppositionists who emigrated, as well as members of the rap group “Kasta” spoke at the event. Art activist Maria Alyokhina from the band Pussy Riot and German also took part in the march historian Karl Schlegel. After the rally, an impromptu concert took place in front of the Russian embassy. Several thousand participants chanted “Russia without Putin”, “No war” and “Down with Chekist power”.

– I am speaking on a table for the first time, but if you have to climb on a table to say that Putin is a murderer, I will climb on a table and say: “Putin is a murderer!” – Yulia Navalna said at the march from an improvised podium.

Ilya Yashin and Volodymyr Kara-Murza, released as part of the exchange, repeated their theses that “Putin should not be associated with all of Russia.”

Most of the participants came with white-blue-white flags, Ukrainian flags were also visible. People marched from Potsdamer Platz to the Brandenburg Gate. Among the demands of the participants were the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine, the release of political prisoners and the trial of Putin as a war criminal.

The “Nastojachee Vremya” TV channel noted that there is a discussion in social networks about whether anti-war actions are needed at all and for whom, as well as what they represent. For example, it is emphasized that Russian oppositionists will never demand from the West permission for long-range strikes against Russia. The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, said in his Telegram channel that the Russian opposition should hold protests against the war in Moscow.

– Russians are guilty of killing Ukrainians. Guilty of genocide. They are guilty of bringing Putin to power and he is still sitting in the Kremlin. The only way to escape is to hold protests against the war in Moscow. If this is not the case and the Russians arrange Putin’s crimes, they are one and the same with him, he wrote.

A day before the rally, Ukraine’s ambassador to Germany Oleksiy Makeev criticized the Russian oppositionists.

– You could see that Ilya Yashin, Yulia Navalnaya and Vladimir Kara-Murza are calling an “anti-war demonstration” in Berlin tomorrow. But what no one will be able to see is at least some consequences from this walk through Berlin. At least positive ones, he wrote in his column for the German publication ZEIT ONLINE.

According to the ambassador, this “PR action” of the Russian exiles diverts attention from the reality of the war, from which they reject the concept of collective responsibility.

– It is difficult for me to imagine Navalna, Kara-Murza and Yashin on their knees in front of the Wall of those who died for Ukraine on Mykhailivska Square. It is equally difficult for me to imagine that they will ever be elected in Russian democratic elections, he also wrote.

In his speech, Vladimir Kara-Murza recalled the entry of Soviet troops into Prague in 1968 and the “For our and your freedom” action on Red Square in Moscow. “Then Prague newspapers wrote: “Now we have seven reasons why we will never be able to hate Russians.” Today in… pic.twitter.com/gV8hdo0Kvo
