As of the morning of November 18, the number of people killed as a result of the Russian attack on Sumy has increased to 11, including two children, and another 55 people are injured, including eight children, the State Emergency Service reported.

“At the scene of the incident, the indomitable point of the State Emergency Service was quickly deployed to help citizens,” the message reads.

The troops of the Russian Federation struck the residential sector of Sumy in the evening of November 17, as a result of which several buildings were damaged. Later, due to another strike, according to the local authorities, an infrastructure object was damaged, due to which the city was partially left without electricity.

November 18 and 19 have been declared days of mourning in Sumy.

The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, rockets, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.

The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.

The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes by the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
