In Sumy, as a result of the Russian strike on November 17, the number of dead increased to ten, and another 52 people were injured, the regional military administration reported.

“Today, by directing a rocket at a densely populated residential area of Sumy, the terrorist state killed 10 residents of the regional center, including a 9-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl,” the message reads. The State Emergency Service added that five children were among the injured.

The head of OVA Volodymyr Artyukh reported that houses and vehicles were damaged in the city.

“Broken glass is everywhere… Rescuers, well-wishers, the police are working. More than 400 residents of damaged buildings are being evacuated. The headquarters is deployed, indomitable points are working, residents of neighboring buildings and even from other microdistricts of the city are joining in helping the victims,” Artyukh added.

The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, rockets, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.

The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.

The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes by the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
