In the evening of November 16, Russia launched a new attack on Ukraine by Shaheds from the north.
22:59 The Air Force has updated information about the Shahed over Ukraine:
- Enemy UAVs on the border of Cherkasy and Kyiv regions, heading south-west.
- Air strike aircraft in the north of Poltava region headed for Cherkasy region.
22:48 An air alert has been announced in the Kyiv region (without Kyiv).
22:30 The Air Force once again announced the activity of Russian tactical aircraft in the north-eastern direction and the threat of air strikes. And in a few minutes – about the launch of the KAB by tactical aviation of the Russians in the Kharkiv region. An air alert was announced in the Kharkiv and Cherkasy regions.
At 9:41 p.m., the Air Force reported a shaheed in the Sumy region moving to the Poltava region.
At 10:16 p.m., the Air Force announced that one Shahed in Sumy Oblast was moving to Poltava Oblast, and a group of Shahed in the north of Poltava Oblast was moving to Cherkasy Oblast.
In addition, at 20:44, it was reported about the activity of enemy tactical aviation in the north-eastern direction and the threat of air weapons, at 20:57 – about the launch of the anti-aircraft missile defense system in the north of Sumy Oblast.
At 8:59 p.m., the Air Force also warned about the activity of enemy tactical aircraft and the threat of aerial means of defeating the Russians in Donetsk region.
As of 22:23, an air alert was announced in Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava and Donetsk regions.
