British parliamentarians from all parties called on Kiir Starmer’s government to support Ukraine’s demands for “a just peace” by diplomatic pressure and military aid. This was reported by The Guardian on Saturday, November 16.
Parliamentarians called on Strumer’s government “resolutely support Ukraine in the coming months.” A statement by the cross-party parliamentary group on Ukraine on the occasion of 1,000 days since the full-scale Russian invasion also said that “international support is crucial to achieving a just peace.”
“A plan to win [президента України Володимира Зеленського] is aimed at ensuring that the war does not last indefinitely and that it ends on fair terms, with Ukraine’s sovereignty ensured and Putin’s plans fail,” the statement said.
The head of the parliamentary group, Alex Sobel, said that Britain should support Kyiv’s position regarding possible concessions, and not push Zelensky to agree to Russian demands.
“No other country has the authority to negotiate on the rejection of the territory of Ukraine,” he said.
Volodymyr Zelensky’s victory plan
On October 16, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented in the Verkhovna Rada the details of the victory plan, which had already been presented to foreign partners. It consists of five points and three secret appendices and includes:
- Ukraine’s invitation to NATO;
- strengthening of defense;
- containment of the Russian Federation;
- strategic economic potential;
- replacement of separate military contingents of the US Army in Europe by Ukrainian units (post-war point).
On October 29, The New York Times newspaper reported that the closed clause of Zelenskyi’s plan regarding the non-nuclear deterrence package refers to the Tomahawk missiles that Ukraine requested from the United States.
On October 30, Zelenskyi said that information about Tomahawk missiles was confidential between Ukraine and the White House. According to him, leaking such data means that there is no privacy between partners.
