Gladiator II. Ridley Scott. From November 13.
The film, the reaction to the creation of which in just a few months went from “why?” to “what did Ridley Scott shoot there?”.
The events of the second Gladiator take place two decades after the events of the first. Lucius (Paul Mescal) lives quietly with his family somewhere on the African coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Peace continues until the troops of the Roman Empire come there under the leadership of General Marcus (Pedro Pascal). Legionnaires kill Lucius’ wife. He is sent into slavery, and the man has little choice: take revenge or die.
The path here seems familiar, but the director has prepared a lot of surprises.
Secrets of the enchanted forest. Vincent Paronneau, Alexis Ducor. From November 14.
One of the directors of this French family cartoon, Vincent Paronneau, was nominated for an Oscar in 2008 for the classic Persepolis.
In Secrets of the Enchanted Forest, the story of a 10-year-old boy, Angelo, who was forgotten at the gas station by his parents, rushing to visit his sick grandmother, will be told partly under his leadership. The little one was not lost, but, inspired by his love for the old woman, decided to go straight. Through the same enchanted forest.
There he will plunge into a complete fairy tale with, we hope, a happy ending.
Lust for life. Oleksandr Tymenko. From November 14.
An unpretentious, and perhaps in this case expedient, documentary about the work of Ukrzaliznytsia.
The first days of the great war, evacuation of the population, work under fire. A train in Ukraine has long been more than just a train. This is one of the symbols of resistance and endurance. And the voice in Oleksandr Tymenko’s film was given to those without whom this symbol would not have been created: numerous employees of Ukrzaliznytsia.
Curse of the Sin-Eater. Justin Denton. From November 14.
A scary tale about the importance of personalized responsibility.
A stupid, penniless guy decides to accept the strange offer of his employer – an old rich man with a country estate – to eat a few dishes from the latter’s corpse, and in return receive all his property. The eerie ritualism of the deal does not bother the main character and he agrees to eat and get rich.
However, after some time, the boy begins to realize the horror to which he condemned himself: along with the food, he absorbed the sins of the old man. And he had a lot of them.

Kingdom of Kensuke. Neil Boyle. From November 14.
Another European cartoon, this time British, with great animation and a lost boy at the center of the plot.
During a family trip across the ocean, Michael and his dog are washed overboard. Both come to their senses on a small forested island with rich flora and fauna and an old hermit named Kensuke. Fascinated by the beauty of the place, the boy and his dog encounter poachers who want to make a profit from it. And they also do not give up their desire to return to their relatives.
Death in Paris. Marzhan Satrapi. From November 14.
Marzhan Satrapi is the author of the graphic novel Persepolis and co-director of its screen adaptation.
Death in Paris is her debut in the genre of kaleidoscopic comedy. The events of the film take place in Paris. Satrapi focuses on a bunch of characters: an opera diva played by Monica Bellucci, a director played by Rossi de Palma, and so on, who try to keep their sanity and taste for life in conditions where life is constantly trying to spoil everything.
Butchers. Haydn Butler. From November 14.
A rural crime story from New Zealand. In the USA, they are filmed by Jeremy Saulnier.
In the center are two brothers who want to get their slaughterhouse out of debt and gain financial independence. However, to get out of the poverty list, you have to take risks and make sacrifices: men organize businesses to provide specific services. If you have someone you want to get rid of, they will help.
