It has already happened that former champions return to boxing infrequently and unsightly. It is usually an attempt to get a large fee for a short work in what turns out to be the best.
There are many such examples, but Mike Tyson is hardly on this list. Fortunately for the American boxer, his path brought enormous popularity. And, even with gigantic debts during his career, Tyson was able to get out and now live well.
At the very least, a cannabis-related business brings in enough money to live comfortably. Also, does anyone believe that a man like Tyson can’t get money just by name? Floyd Mayweather is traveling the world with exhibitions and commercials, and Mike has no money?
The question here, rather, is something else – why does he have that fight? After all, before the fight against Paul, Tyson said that he wanted to box even after the meeting with the blogger. And then there was information that the American could meet with the former world champion Tomasz Adamek even before the negotiations with Jake, but everything broke down.
That is, it’s just a desire to box again. Pass the camp, pass all these official events and enter the ring. Despite the fact that Mike has repeatedly emphasized that he is afraid of fights, he cannot just leave it like that.
“I want to die in the ring,” Tyson said before the fight. If a person loves this thing, what will you do?
Of course, I didn’t have to die. And good. But the match itself looked like the last dance of a once legendary athlete. Because everything looked really bad.
The match began with the activity of Mike Tyson. Went forward, tried to attack. What happened next? Jake Paul just wouldn’t let him get close. And then it turned out that Mike could not get close at all.
Mike’s legs did not obey at all. He went in circles after the opponent, not being able to activate and catch up. The opponent simply moved in circles and did not allow to get close.
Despite this, Jake Paul was very careful. Too much. In the first and second rounds, he did not let them get close, but he did not look his best either. Jake was clearly worried about the strength of his opponent’s punch and did not want to miss punches.
And then I realized that it wouldn’t work. Mike hit once, hit twice. He jabbed, but Jake wasn’t impressed. Then he realized that in general he could do anything.
By the fourth round, things were looking very sad. Mike did not have time at all, the opponent combined blows, did not allow him to catch up. It was the easiest opponent in Paul’s career. Perhaps with the exception of starting bloggers and basketball players. And maybe, taking them into account.
In general, if Jake openly attacked and wanted to hit, Mike would have no chance. But he let the opponent go. Left from the distance – shifted. Punched an overhand – shifted. And so until the very end.
Paul did not want to beat the legend. All the chatter about punishment for slapping at the weigh-in and so on turned out to be chatter. And not to say that it’s bad, because the least I wanted to see was Mike Tyson falling.
The match ended with an unequivocal victory for Jake. Victory by a well-deserved decision of the judges. Paul noted the legend of his opponent and thanked him for everything. A good end to the fight and definitely better than it could have been if the younger boxer had aggressively attacked the older one.

Mike will not calm down. In the ring, he challenged Logan Paul to a fight – Jake’s brother. Now he performs in wrestling and is a star there. He also had experience in boxing matches. Including against Floyd Mayweather.
But Tyson shouldn’t do that. There is no reason to believe that Mike can beat Logan or look good in the ring with him.
And will people want to watch it again? It is unlikely that people will believe in Tyson again.
Jake will continue to mix fights with boxers and just famous personalities from martial arts. Of course, there was talk about Saul Alvarez, but it is believed just as much as the victory of Mike Tyson in this fight.
However, Paul can slowly make his way to the cruiserweight title. He spoke about such a goal and, given the organization’s policy, it is absolutely possible. Especially since cruiserweight is quite interesting now, and Jake has time to do everything he needs to do – he is only 27.
And Paul definitely has an MMA fight in the PFL ahead of him. He has a contract with the promotion and will definitely fight there. Most likely, in the near future.
