At the briefing on Friday, Sikorsky, among others, was asked about Scholz’s call to Putin. According to him, he has already exchanged information on this matter with the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk.
“It is very good that the German chancellor reported this conversation to the Polish prime minister almost immediately and – from what the German chancellor says – it follows that he presented something that Poland agrees with. Namely, that no decisions regarding Ukraine can be accepted without Ukraine,” said Sikorskyi.
The head of the Polish MFA was also asked about the Ukrainian president’s criticism of Scholz’s conversation with Putin.
In response, Sikorskyi said that he does not yet know Zelenskyi’s statement on this matter. However, he said “things are picking up”. “And that’s why next week I will chair the Weimar Triangle Plus,” he said.
The head of the Polish MFA clarified that, in addition to the heads of the MFA of France and Germany, he expects to meet with representatives of other important European countries. The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the new High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaya Kallas was also invited.
“As we can see, the most important negotiations about this crisis will take place in Warsaw,” Sikorsky emphasized.
