The charity organization Save Ukraine reported on the return of 15 children from the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions to the territory controlled by Ukraine.
Mykola Kuleba, the founder of the organization, told about it.
He noted that every story of a rescued child is tragic and deserves special attention. In particular, he shared the story of Vitalina, a young mother who was in the last months of pregnancy when Russian troops captured her village. She gave birth to a child during the occupation and had to obtain Russian documents in order to keep the child.
Another story concerns Marichka, who was forced by the occupiers to study in a Russian school, speak only Russian and study propaganda poems. When she turned 18, the Russians gave her a choice: become “Russian” or leave everything and go to Ukraine on foot.
Another child, Olena, left the occupation after her home was flooded due to the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP. Her son fell into depression, and the woman decided to leave for his health.
In addition, the organization was able to save Kirill, who was summoned to serve in the occupying army at the age of 17, as well as Kateryna, whose son faced the same threat.
Sasha, whose mother worked in a children’s camp captured by the Russians, was taken out separately. She was forced to read propaganda books.
In total, during the entire war, Save Ukraine managed to return 538 children.
Earlier we wrote that two families with three children were returned from the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region.
Seven more children were returned from the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson region and Crimea to the controlled territory of Ukraine.
