Austria without Russian gas: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine commented on Russia’s energy blackmail

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga announced the use of Russian gas as a weapon after Russia cut off Austria from the supply of blue fuel, writes UNN.

“By cutting off Austria’s gas supply, Russia is once again using energy as a weapon. However, the Austrian government will undoubtedly ensure energy security and reject blackmail. The era of Europe relying on Russian gas is over. Time to completely cut off Russian energy profits – and war funding.” – wrote the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiga in X.

His statement appeared after the announcement that the Russian “Gazprom” will stop the transit of gas through Ukraine to Austria from November 16.

This followed the decision of the Austrian company OMV to credit the 230 million euros received in the arbitration against Gazprom from the accounts under the contract with Gazprom. OMV then warned of a “possible stoppage of gas supplies” from Russia.
