Every year on November 16, the Day of Radio, Television and Communications Workers is celebrated in Ukraine. This professional holiday unites people whose work provides information space, communication and access to modern technologies.
Today we are talking about those who stand behind the TV screens, ensure the operation of radio waves and create the communication infrastructure without which it is impossible to imagine our modern life.
History of the holiday
The Day of Radio, Television and Communications Workers was started in 1994 by the Decree of the President of Ukraine. The date of November 16 was not chosen by chance: it was on this day in 1924 that the first official radio broadcast in Ukraine was held in Kharkiv. Since then, technology has evolved, and today the industry encompasses not only radio and television, but also mobile communications, Internet communications, and digital platforms.
The importance of the work of radio, television and communication workers
The sphere of radio, television and communication is important for every Ukrainian. Its representatives:
- Ensure promptness and truthfulness of news.
- They are developing a technical infrastructure that allows maintaining communication even in the most remote corners of the country.

Their work became especially important during the war, when information and communication are not just a convenience, but a vital necessity.
