In October, 2,006 people consulted doctors. Among the most common diseases are diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases and insomnia.
Mobile clinics are trucks equipped with several offices that have no analogues in Ukraine. Usually, the appointment is conducted by: a family doctor, a neurologist, an ophthalmologist, an endocrinologist and a cardiologist, who, if necessary, makes an electrocardiogram of the heart.
In addition, in clinics on wheels, you can perform ultrasound of the abdominal cavity, thyroid gland, kidneys and mammary glands. They also have a laboratory where patients can take blood tests, TSH, check glucose and cholesterol levels.
All patients who came to the clinic received medical drugs and glasses free of charge as prescribed by doctors. Mobile clinics have been operating in the Kherson region since June 2024. During this time, the team of doctors managed to conduct 36,803 consultations.
“Medical infrastructure in the Kherson region was destroyed due to the war. In addition, not all locals can reach the nearest medical facility due to the lack of normal roads and transportation problems. We also see a huge problem with medical specialists, because there are not enough of them, many have gone abroad and are unlikely to return to Ukraine. Therefore, mobile clinics are an ideal solution for residents of regions affected by shelling, occupation or simply located far from district centers. In the clinics, people can consult specialized doctors for free, undergo various examinations, get medicines or glasses for vision,” shared Andrii Zapitetskyi, CEO of Fortitude.
Clinics continue to work in the Kherson region. To receive free medical care, follow the messages of local authorities, which promptly announce the location of mobile clinics.
The project “Mobile Clinics of the Kherson region” is implemented by the “Fortitude” charitable foundation in cooperation with the International Rescue Committee in Ukraine with the support of the Humanitarian Fund for Ukraine (UHF) of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs / OCHA Ukraine.
