Radio Liberty’s Russian service has established the geolocation of two Russian soldiers entering Ukrainian territory in the Chernihiv region, probably as part of a larger group. They installed the Russian flag on the bridge over the Sudost River in the area of the border town of Gremyach.
Earlier, Russian pro-war bloggers said that Russian forces probably entered the territory of Ukraine across the border in the Chernihiv region near the villages of Gremyach and Muravyi in the Novgorod-Siversky district and planted Russian flags there.
Approximately 900 people lived in the village of Gremyach in 2022. According to unconfirmed data, no more than 50 people lived in Muravye. Both settlements are part of the Novgorod-Siversk urban community.
