With the beginning of the large-scale invasion, the income of the leader of Eurosolidarity, Petro Poroshenko, increased 25 times. In just 10 months of 2024, Poroshenko has become richer by almost 4 billion hryvnias and has every chance to become the richest oligarch in the country, – writes political scientist Petro Oleschuk.

“The leader of European Solidarity, Petro Poroshenko, proved by his own example that war is enrichment. In October alone, he grew by almost two (!) billion hryvnias. If we look at Poroshenko’s declaration, we will see that the real enrichment came to Petro Oleksiyovych precisely during the war.” , – writes Petro Oleschuk.

Oleschuk draws attention to the fact that in the pre-war year of 2021, Poroshenko showed an income of only 162 million UAH, in 2022 – 9 times more: 1 billion 435 million UAH. And the year 2023 ended with UAH 1 billion 440 million in accounts. Instead, the oligarch’s most successful year was 2024, which has not yet ended.

“In just 10 months of 2024, Poroshenko became richer by almost 4 billion hryvnias! The year has not yet ended, and he has already received 25 times more money than a year before the war,” the expert notes.

Oleschuk also compares the increase in Poroshenko’s income during the war with the reduction in the fortunes of other oligarchs: the assets of the richest man in Ukraine, Rinat Akhmetov, decreased by 64% (minus 365 billion hryvnias). The second place in the ranking of the richest Ukrainians, Viktor Pinchuk, lost 20 billion hryvnias during the war.

“Only Poroshenko not only rose from 12th to 3rd place among the TOP oligarchs, but also accelerated his enrichment at a record speed. Now his wallet is getting fatter by UAH 1-2 billion every month. The most interesting thing is that, judging by the pace of enrichment, the “main oppositionist” even during the war, he has every chance to become the main oligarch of Ukraine,” summarizes Petro Oleschuk.

As previously reported, the military accused Poroshenko of promoting the Armed Forces at the expense of money he received from securities purchased for unpaid taxes in Ukraine.
