Donald Trump continues to build his team. As always, what this charismatic person does is accompanied by outrage and scandals. Briefly about – about the new personnel decisions of the future American president.

Former presidential candidate and supporter of Biden will trust US intelligenceDonald Trump has decided on new candidates for the positions of heads of some law enforcement agencies. He is going to appoint a former Democratic congresswoman as Director of National Intelligence party 43-year-old Tulsi Gabbard.

The story of their acquaintance, which took place during Trump’s first presidential term, is interesting. Then Gabbart, who actively supported Hillary Clinton, was invited to the White House for an interview. Trump wanted to consult on military matters. Tulsi is an active-duty US Army officer and a veteran of the Iran War. Their views turned out to be so similar that Trump allegedly even then offered her a high position in his cabinet. It didn’t work the first time.

At the first stage of the presidential race, Gabbart even declared her desire to run for the highest public office. This caused dissatisfaction among party members and an open conflict with Hillary Clinton. In 2020, she dropped out of the race and endorsed… Joe Biden. Now it is quite possible to head the entire intelligence of the United States. And, by the way, she worked for Fox News as a political commentator.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, the politician has declared that “the USA is guilty of military aggression” against Russia, because it “provoked” the aggressor for many years, and “the ruling elite of Washington wants to kill as many Russians as possible with the hands of Ukrainians.”

In 2022, the Center for Combating Disinformation at the National Security Council of Ukraine warned that Gabbard has been working for a foreign audience for Russian money for several years. It was she who spread the Kremlin’s narratives and misinformed the world about the alleged presence of development of weapons of mass destruction in Ukraine’s biolaboratories. Gabbart was even included in the “Peacemaker” database.

As for her functional duties, the Director of National Intelligence is accountable to the US President and serves as the head of the US Intelligence Community (a total of 17 intelligence agencies). He is also an adviser to the US president on intelligence issues that concern the national as well. And now one can only imagine what Gabbard will “advise” Trump about Ukraine.

The candidate for Prosecutor General is a young and devoted RepublicanIn the position of attorney general, Trump sees a congressman from Florida, 42-year-old Matt Goetz.

This person is also known for speaking out against aid to Ukraine. In 2022, he voted against the law on Lend-Lease, and in 2024 – against the law on additional aid to Ukraine. He openly stated: “If we had to choose who to accept into NATO – Russia or Ukraine, it would be appropriate to choose Russia. In the long run, it would be more beneficial.”

In February 2023, Goetz, supported by a dozen other members of the House of Representatives, introduced a resolution calling on the Biden administration to end military and financial aid to Ukraine and calling on all parties to secure a “peace deal.”

Donald Trump said Goetz is a “profoundly gifted and tenacious lawyer.” In Congress, he distinguished himself by his attention “to the achievement of much-needed reforms in the Ministry of Justice.”

But it is possible that the future president of the United States saw a kindred spirit in Goethe, since he, like Trump himself, was accused of sexual abuse. Goetz has been under investigation by the Justice Department for about three years for sex trafficking allegations involving a 17-year-old girl. He was also suspected of illegal drug use and receiving “improper gifts”.

The position of the general prosecutor is one of the key ones. It is thanks to him that Trump will be able to carry out the announced mass deportation, pardon the participants of the riots during the storming of the Capitol on January 6, and take revenge, as he promised, on those who persecuted him during the last four years.

It is not a fact that the Senate will confirm Matt Goetz as US Attorney General. Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said that would not happen. According to him, the refusal of the senators to support Goetz is “obvious to everyone” – even despite the fact that the Republicans will control the upper house.

The Pentagon is waiting for a “big cleaning”Trump’s intention to appoint 44-year-old Republican Pete Hegseth, the host of the Fox News TV channel, as the head of the Department of Defense – the Pentagon – caused a shock in this department. Politico reports that a number of current and former Defense Department officials are concerned that, despite his military experience (he is a veteran of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan), Hegseth does not have sufficient skills to manage large structures.

“Would you trust him to manage Walmart (supermarket chain, the largest employer in the US, the number of employees is about 1.6 million – Ed.)? After all, we have that many employees,” said one of the former officials of the American agency. Another former official noted that “people are in shock” over Hegseth’s likely appointment. “He’s just a Fox News character who has never worked in government. It’s tiring and difficult, and it has nothing to do with being on Fox News,” he said.

But this does not bother Trump, and he even decided to “walk around the ice rink” in the US Ministry of Defense. Reuters reports that Trump’s team is drawing up lists of military officers to be fired from the Pentagon. Perhaps it will include members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, which could be an unprecedented upheaval in the Pentagon.

Trump himself has been active in the past against defense department leaders who have criticized him. During the election campaign, he also talked about firing the generals. And the new administration is likely to focus on U.S. officers believed to be linked to Mark Milley, the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. at the headquarters

That’s because Milley was quoted in Bob Woodward’s book War, published last month, as calling Trump a “fascist to the core.” And Trump is an extremely vindictive person. “Everyone who was promoted and assigned by Millie will leave. There is a very detailed list of everyone who was associated with Millie. And they will all leave,” a Reuters source informed.
