The Russian invaders advanced to the limits of the Kupyansk residential development, taking advantage of the weather conditions — fog, but were destroyed.
This was announced on November 15 by the commander of the battalion of the Achilles 92 attack unmanned aircraft complexes of the separate assault brigade named after the basket chieftain Ivan Sirk, captain Yury Fedorenko, on the air of the telethon “Edyni novyny” on November 15. According to him, we are talking about the left-bank part of Kupyansk.
The Russian invaders were detected and, as a result, a column of three vehicles – one tank and two MT-LBs – were destroyed by the Defense Forces.
“Those who managed to hurry were also eliminated within the next 5-6 hours,” said Fedorenko, stressing that there is no enemy on the left bank of Kupyansk today.
Fedorenko also said what the enemy’s goal is.
“The situation is very difficult, but it is controlled by the Defense Forces, there is fierce resistance every day and every night. The enemy is trying to complete the assigned task. Initially, he had until November 1 to take control of Kupiansk-Vuzlovi, Kupiansk Livoberezhny. Now the deadlines have shifted, the enemy did not complete this task, now they have to complete the task by the New Year,” said the commander of Achilles.
Yurii Fedorenko also emphasized that the Ukrainian defenders manage to destroy the attacking potential of the invaders. In one of the landings “with a length of up to 200 meters, 139 occupiers were killed during a certain period of time.”
The situation in Kupyansk is the main thing
On November 13, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that the Russian invaders tried to break through the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kupyansk direction. Assault groups of the Russian Federation attacked the positions of Ukrainian servicemen in four waves.
At the same time, part of the soldiers of the Russian Federation were dressed in uniforms of the model of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is a violation of the laws and rules of war and is a war crime.
On November 14, the head of the Kupyansk city military administration, Andriy Byesedin, reported that the Russian landing party, which broke through to the left bank of Kupyansk on November 13, failed to gain a foothold, and the enemy was destroyed.
In turn, the head of the Center for countering disinformation at the NSDC, Oleksandr Kovalenko, stated that as of the morning of November 14, the situation in Kupyansk is controlled by the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Analysts of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) emphasized that the occupation forces intensified offensive operations near Kupyansk during the last two months. ISW continues to assess that Russia’s capture of Kupyansk will have significant operational consequences.
