Since the beginning of 2024, the Ministry of Defense, in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, returned 30 plots of land illegally registered by third parties to state ownership. The total land area is 3,487 hectares.
In addition, it was possible to return three real estate objects with an area of 1,668 square meters. m, the press service of the Ministry of Defense reported.
Violations were discovered during systematic monitoring of state registers, and in order to restore property rights, the Main Department of Defense Lands and Funds of the Ministry of Defense sent more than 15 complaints to the Ministry of Justice. As a result of their consideration, the illegal registration actions were canceled, and the land plots returned to the disposal of the defense department.
“The protection of state property is one of our priorities. We are making every effort to prevent the illegal alienation of defense lands and other military property belonging to Ukraine. Together with the Ministry of Justice, we are actively working to guarantee the return of these assets to the state,” said the deputy Minister of Defense Dmytro Klimenkov.
The head of the Anti-Raiding Office of the Ministry of Justice, Ivan Korodyuk, in his turn emphasized that the return of state property, especially defense lands, is a fundamental issue for the protection of Ukraine’s national interests in the context of Russia’s ongoing armed aggression.
Previously, together with the State Geocadastre, the Ministry of Defense restored the state’s rights to 69 land plots illegally removed from the state fund. 30 of them were returned thanks to cooperation with the Ministry of Justice.
The Ministry of Defense together with the State Geocadastre during the last six months restored the right of state property to 350 hectares of land in six regions.
