Details: As Kosiniak-Kamysh stated, during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, he told him about “how much Poland has already done and how much it has helped Ukraine.”

He emphasized that this was important in the “context of President Zelenskyi’s words.”

Direct speech: “This is important in the context of President Zelenskyi’s words, which sounded the note that Poland is not doing everything it can.”

More details: According to the Polish minister, Ukrainians have a “short memory”, because during the first months of the full-scale Russian invasion, Poland transferred military equipment and provided humanitarian aid.

“It cannot be said that Poland is not doing everything possible. Poland has done and continues to do everything possible,” he emphasized.

At the same time, Kosinyak-Kamysh drew attention to the “border” that he “will never cross.”

“If the transfer of some equipment will threaten the security of the Polish state, I simply will not transfer this equipment,” he added.

Earlier, the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry stated that his country had done more for Ukraine than others.

“Among the countries that help Ukraine, if you take into account military, financial, economic, humanitarian aid and aid for Ukrainian refugees, Poland has done more for Ukraine in relation to GDP than any other country,” he said.

Prehistory:

  • Polish President Andrzej Duda said on November 14 that at a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, he raised the issue of the possibility of transferring Soviet MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine.
  • The head of the Polish Ministry of Defense, Władysław Kosyniak-Kamys, previously rejected the calls of President Volodymyr Zelensky to speed up the transfer of the MiG-29 to Ukraine.
  • Also, the day before, the Office of the President of Poland published an infographic, from which it follows that the country has allocated 4.91% of its GDP to help Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia.
