Details: The paper notes that during an event in Florida, Trump lamented the deaths caused by war, “whether it’s soldiers” or people “in the cities.”
Direct speech Trump: “We will work on it.”
What preceded: Earlier, Trump, who had already announced his victory in the elections, said that he plans to end wars in the world.
Prehistory:
- Trump has repeatedly stated that he would end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours of being elected to a second term as president.
- He even told how exactly he was going to do it. “I would say to Zelensky: “Enough. You have to make a deal. I would say to Putin: if you don’t make a deal, we will give him a lot. We (will give Ukraine, – ed.) more than they have ever received, if we have to. I will close the deal in one day. In one day,” Trump said.
- Citing sources, The Washington Post reported that Trump allegedly seeks to push Ukraine to make concessions to the Russian Federation and transfer Ukrainian territories under its control – in particular, Crimea and Donbass. Trump campaign adviser Jason Miller called these details fake.
- In April, the CNN channel reported that Trump allegedly plans to force Russia and Ukraine to start negotiations on the cessation of hostilities, pressing with the argument of further American military aid.
- Trump’s former adviser, Fiona Gill, stated that while he was in the position of the US president, he made it clear that he believed that Ukraine should be part of Russia.
- Trump himself said that if he wins the elections, he will try to help Ukraine, but at the same time he will demand the same efforts from Europe.
- In June, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi warned of the risk that ex-president and US presidential candidate Donald Trump could become a “loser president” and weaken US influence in the world if he forces Ukraine to a truce with Russia.
