The European Union called for the withdrawal of North Korean troops from the territory of Russia

“In view of the dangerous escalation associated with the transfer of North Korean troops to Russia, we are coordinating actions with international partners on this issue, including the response to it,” the statement said.

It was recalled that earlier EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell strongly condemned the strengthening of military cooperation between the DPRK and Russia, including Russia’s illegal purchase of DPRK ballistic missiles in violation of numerous UN Security Council resolutions, as well as Russia’s use of these missiles and ammunition against Ukraine.

“These destabilizing and illegal actions endanger regional and international peace and security. We strongly call on Russia and the DPRK to immediately stop their illegal military cooperation and withdraw the DPRK troops from Russian territory,” the EU said.

The European Union and its member states also emphasized that “Russia must immediately end its aggressive war, put an end to the unbearable suffering and destruction, and completely and unconditionally withdraw all its troops and military equipment from the entire territory of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.”

We call on all countries not to provide any material aid or support to Russia’s war of aggression, which is a flagrant violation of international law, in that including the UN Charter, as well as the main principles and obligations of the OSCE,” the statement said.

As Ukrinform reported, the representative of the US State Department, Vedant Patel, said that most of the 10,000 North Korean soldiers who were transferred to Russia are already involved in hostilities against the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kurshchyna, together with Russian soldiers.
