Direct speech Trump: “For too long, Americans have been oppressed by the food industry and pharmaceutical companies that engage in deception, pandering and misinformation when it comes to public health.”
Details: Trump said that under Kennedy Jr.’s leadership, the department will play an important role in protecting Americans from the harmful chemicals, pollutants, pesticides, pharmaceuticals and food additives “that have led to an extraordinary public health crisis in this country.”
Trump also added that Kennedy Jr. “will restore the tradition of the gold standard of scientific research in this field, as well as become a beacon of transparency to end the epidemic of chronic diseases and make America great and healthy again.”
We will remind: Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the third most important candidate in the US presidential election, announced in August that he was suspending his campaign because he saw no chance of victory.
He urged his supporters to vote for Trump, especially in the 10 swing states that hinge on the outcome of the election.
Kennedy separately emphasized how close he is to Trump’s position on the issue of the war in Ukraine.
What preceded: Trump intends to nominate Florida Sen. Marco Rubio for secretary of state.
Trump previously picked Pete Hegseth, a Fox News host and veteran who has expressed disdain for the policies of Pentagon chiefs, as his defense secretary.
He also confirmed the appointment of Florida Congressman Mike Waltz as national security adviser in his incoming administration.
