The former governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoit, who currently works as the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, admitted that the Russian military looted houses in the villages of the Glushkovsky district, abandoned by local residents due to hostilities.

“Yesterday it was discussed at a meeting with law enforcement agencies. There are facts of looting among both civilians and military personnel,” said Starovoit at a meeting with residents of the district. Video from the meeting was published by the Kursk Now Telegram channel.

After these words, Starovoit began to applaud in the hall.

The official noted that law enforcement agencies were tasked with strengthening security in populated areas. “There are facts that looted goods are sent by delivery services (into Russia),” Starovoit added.

The current governor of the Kursk region, Oleksiy Smirnov, published a report on the meeting with the residents of the Glushkovsky district, but did not mention the problem of looting. He noted that the authorities continue to issue housing certificates to people who have become homeless, and also promised compensation to those who lost personal vehicles and livestock.

On November 11, the Russian state agency TASS wrote that it was the Ukrainian military who allegedly robbed houses in the village of Glushkovo, although this settlement never came under the control of the Armed Forces. After comments by Russian pro-war bloggers, TASS edited the message.

Cases of looting were reported not only in Glushkovsky, but also in the neighboring Korenevsky district of the Kursk region, which has also been in the war zone since August. The Ukrainian military did not enter Korenev, as well as Glushkovo.
