“We can neither reduce nor reform” – the “Servant of the People” reacted to the idea of disbanding the TCC

According to the member of the Verkhovna Rada, Oleksandr Fedienko, “it is necessary to popularize the story related to recruiting more, but to do it in such a way that recruiting works guaranteed””, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org

Reforming the system of territorial staffing and social support centers (TCC and SP) is impossible, says Oleksandr Fedienko (Servant of the People faction), a member of the parliamentary committee on national security, defense and intelligence. He told about this on November 14 in a commentary for Radio Svoboda.

“I believe that what concerns the dissolution or reduction of the TCC is purely populism, nothing more. We can neither reduce nor reform now. There are objective reasons for this. First, they have already been reformed. There are servicemen left in the TCC who have either injuries or physical limitations. In addition, when they are constantly being reformed, they do not have time to physically gain capacity. This immediately affects the effectiveness of mobilization,” said a representative of the ruling faction.

According to Oleksandr Fedienko, “it is necessary to popularize the story related to recruiting more, but to do it in such a way that recruiting works guaranteed.”

“That is, when a conscript through the recruiting model goes to a military formation, to a military unit, he must clearly understand that he will get there. And not so that after BVZ (combat military coordination) he gets into grenade launchers or machine gunners. This should not be the case. This reduces the attractiveness of the recruiting mechanism. And, of course, it should be left to the military units, so that the military units have their own VLCs or they conclude an agreement with medical institutions that conduct the corresponding VLCs,” says Fedienko.

According to the deputy, in this way, the effectiveness of recruitment of conscripts will gradually shift to recruiting, and the TCC will implement the general policy of the state regarding conscripts.

Earlier this week, Yuliya Yatsik, Fedienko’s colleague in the parliament, said that on November 12, the Verkhovna Rada’s temporary investigative commission for the protection of the rights of military personnel, of which she is a member, submitted a report in which it proposed disbanding territorial recruitment and social support centers and creating recruiting centers instead. According to Yatsyk, thanks to the dissolution of the TCC, it is possible to staff “more than 10 full-fledged brigades”.
