“Ukrainian people decide.” Serhii Prytula – about future negotiations with the Russian Federation, Trump’s team and the export of Ukrainian weapons – interview

— After the victory of Donald Trump in the presidential elections in the USA, we understand that a new reality has arrived for Ukraine, and not only. You have many contacts in the USA. What do they tell you, what to expect from Donald Trump in foreign policy?

— Those of my contacts who are involved in the advocacy of Ukraine in Washington, offered me to buy flippers, because I will have to go to Florida, since the top people in positions in the new administration are from this state.

Jokes aside, now at least some specifics have begun to appear — some names of people who can occupy key positions in the administration of Donald Trump are being called. This means that there are people with whom you can already start communicating – that’s what’s important.

Until yesterday, the day before yesterday, communication with the new administration was complicated, because everyone, who was not lazy, made one or another statement, the Ukrainian media spread them with a kind of panic flavor. Some adviser could afford to say that Ukraine should forget about Crimea (alludes to Trump’s senior adviser Brian Lanz – Ed.), although the person is not endowed with any powers.

And now, when the names of the people who will be responsible for this or that direction are already known, I think the Ukrainian diplomacy, military-political leadership are looking for communication channels through whom to communicate with these people.
