Almost three and a half years after the investigation against the judge of the District Administrative Court, Pavlo Vovka, on the alleged transfer of a bribe, the Supreme Council of Justice suspended him from work.

“Judge of the District Administrative Court of the city of Kyiv, Vovka Pavel Vyacheslavovich, has been temporarily suspended from the administration of justice based on the decision of the Third Disciplinary Chamber of the High Council of Justice,” the message reads.

The Council clarifies that the Third Disciplinary Chamber of the Supreme Administrative Court approved the application for disciplinary responsibility of the judge in the form of a dismissal application on November 13. Vovka was suspended from his post pending a decision on this petition.

“Judges are considered to be temporarily removed from the administration of justice without the adoption of a separate decision by the Supreme Council of Justice. The period of suspension of judges from the administration of justice is until the Supreme Council of Justice adopts a decision on their dismissal from office or the annulment of the decision of the Disciplinary Chamber,” the VRP declares.

We will remind you that at the beginning of November, VACS authorized the compulsory bringing to court of the head of the District Administrative Court of the city of Kyiv, Pavlo Vovka, in the case of “OASK tapes”.

Earlier, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine imposed a fine of 4.5 thousand hryvnias on the head of Kyiv District Administrative Court, Pavlo Vovka.

On April 12, the Higher Anti-Corruption Court (HCAC) seized the real estate and car of the deputy head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Yuriy Zontov, the brother of Pavel Vovka, the head of the Kyiv District Administrative Court.

On April 6, 2021, the NABU reported that it had exposed Yury Zontov, the brother of the head of the District Administrative Court of Kyiv, Pavel Vovka, for receiving a $100,000 bribe. The money was supposed to be handed over to Vovuk himself.

Also, NABU and SAP exposed “in the heat of the moment” two lawyers-intermediaries who transferred money to OASK judges for receiving illegal benefits. Two lawyers, according to the investigation, promised for $100,000 to agree with one of the judges of the OASK on a positive decision in the case.
