The Government of Ukraine will increase the policy of socio-economic equalization and focus on creating equal conditions for communities.
About this stated Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction – Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
He drew attention to the fact that in Ukraine at the beginning of 2024 there were more than 280,000 destroyed objects, and currently their number has exceeded 320,000.
“This is how our picture of destruction has changed over the course of a year. It is logical that the absolute majority of the increase falls on the front-line territories. Our task is to distribute resources in such a way that currently, during the war and after our victory, those regions that need them receive more resources.” – he said.
Kuleba reminded that business in the frontline regions is in an extremely difficult situation, so it is extremely difficult to talk about providing loans for enterprises that work 20-30 km from the contact line. The government is considering the prospect of expanding grant programs for them.
In addition, during the formation of the state budget for 2025, steps will be taken to redistribute the budget within the framework of regional policy.
“The frontline territories will remain with a reverse subsidy, will remain with 64% of personal income tax. We will only continue to increase the equalization policy,” Kuleba emphasized.
The Deputy Prime Minister also emphasized that for the western and central regions of Ukraine, which demonstrate economic growth, the government will develop competition tools so that business can continue to develop and show results.
