The command of the Ground Forces started an additional verification of the circumstances of the incident between Oleksandr Dmitriev and servicemen from the “Asgard” group.

“The Command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, having studied in detail the conclusions of the Main Directorate of the Military Law and Order Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and taking into account their suggestions, began an additional examination of the circumstances of the incident between the civil servant Dmitriev O. and servicemen of the “Asgard” group, the report says.
Unbiased measures of additional verification were simultaneously initiated in relation to all participants in the incident. In particular, in accordance with Part 1 of Article 68 of the Law of Ukraine “On Civil Service”, disciplinary proceedings were opened and a disciplinary commission was established in relation to Oleksandr Dmitriev.
At the same time, on the basis of paragraph 15 of item 1 of section II of the Procedure for conducting an official investigation in the Armed Forces, approved by the order of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine dated November 21, 2017 No. 608, an official investigation was launched with the aim of clarifying the reasons and conditions that contributed to the offense and establishing the degree of guilt of servicemen. Information on the results will be provided additionally.
The command of the Ground Forces asks the public, until the results of the additional inspection are made public, to refrain from premature conclusions regarding the incident between the civil servant and military personnel from the “Asgard” group.
On October 13, the “Asgard” unit released a video in which Oleksandr Dmitriev, nicknamed Tykhod, who presents himself as an adviser to the commander of the Ground Forces Oleksandr Pavlyuk, threatens and humiliates the military unit, promises to “break the military over the knee.”
On October 14, the command of the Ground Forces announced that the incident that occurred in the “Asgard” unit will be thoroughly investigated.
After that, Oleksandr Pavlyuk initiated an official investigation by the Military Service of Law and Order in the Armed Forces of Ukraine — the conclusions and decisions, according to him, will be public. He also noted that justice “will be ensured in full accordance with the norms of the current legislation.”
