Two unarmed Ukrainian soldiers were shot dead in the Kursk region, an investigation has been launched, reports UNN with reference to the Prosecutor General’s Office.

According to the Office, on November 11, 2024, during the monitoring of information in social networks, a publication with a video recording of the alleged shooting of two unarmed Ukrainian servicemen in the Kursk direction by representatives of the Soviet Union was discovered.

The deliberate killing of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and qualifies as a grave international crime, prosecutors added.

As part of the criminal proceedings, primary investigative (research) actions are carried out, aimed at establishing the circumstances of the event in order to bring the culprits to justice.
