“The “neutral” tennis player found an explanation for his loss”, — write: sport.ua
Andriy Rublev (ATP 9) shared his thoughts on how the game has changed at the professional level. At the start ATP Finals 2024 in Turin he yielded Alexander Zverev (ATP 2). According to Rublev, now tactical schemes do not decide much, and the result of the match is often determined by a few shots.
“Nowadays in tennis everything comes down to a serve and two shots. Tactics don’t matter. Even if you play according to the plan, you can meet someone like Zverev, he will make an excellent serve and finish the draw. Today everything is different, there are no tactics.”
“Sasha played excellently, now he is the best server among everyone I met on tour this year. Zverev has high confidence. I also showed good tennis, but it was not enough,” Rublev added.
Andriy will play his next match against the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, who has recently had health problems.
