President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Poland on Independence Day, which the country celebrates on November 11.

Zelensky called Poland a good neighbor and friend with whom Ukraine is fighting side by side for common freedom. The head of state thanked for the support that Poland provides to Ukraine.

“Both of our peoples know the real price of independence. Having our own independent state is the only way to guarantee the freedom and security of our people. In the face of a common historical enemy, we must preserve our strength and unity. Friendship always prevails over geopolitics. The stronger the partnership, the fewer the geopolitical challenges; our region is a vivid example of this,” Zelenskyy wrote on the X network (formerly Twitter).

He also emphasized that Ukraine strives to develop good neighborly relations and resolve all bilateral issues based on mutual respect: “Together we will achieve freedom, security and prosperity for both our peoples and for the whole of Europe.”

In the morning, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiga, published greetings for Poles on the occasion of Independence Day.

“We value solidarity, support and assistance to Ukraine, which is at war. Let’s cherish the ties between Ukraine and Poland, let’s develop a partnership to restore a just peace, the well-being of our peoples in the united European family,” Sybiga wrote.

The recently appointed ambassador of Poland, Vasyl Bodnar, recorded a welcoming video address on the occasion of the restoration of Polish independence in 1918.

“We will remember this help for ages and will always be grateful to the Polish people, to all Poles who gave and continue to give an extraordinary testimony of humanity, brotherhood and sacrifice in the name of the struggle for our freedom and yours,” the diplomat said.

Bodnar emphasized the importance of preserving and strengthening solidarity and trust, and solving all doubts and problems by joint efforts in a sincere dialogue.
