President Volodymyr Zelensky promised Ukrainians a new aid package for the winter period.

“Government officials are currently also preparing other solutions, in particular for the winter support package for Ukrainians, which will be presented this month… The government must help people who work in Ukraine and, of course, for Ukraine,” the head of state said in a new video message.

He did not reveal the details of the assistance, but said that “he also instructed the government to make a fixed supplement to all teaching staff of schools.”

On November 8, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to introduce a monthly “teacher supplement” to the salary of teachers in the amount of one thousand hryvnias, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced during an off-site meeting of the government held in Odesa.

Shmyhal specified that from September 1, 2025, this payment will be increased to UAH 2,000 “in the hands” of each teacher.

“This decision is part of our support for those who are currently teaching and educating young people who will build the future of Ukraine. Thank you Ukrainian teachers for your selfless work. Thanks to you, even despite the war, hundreds of thousands of children can continue their studies and get a quality education,” Shmyhal added.
