The Main Directorate of Intelligence stated that People’s Representative Yevgeny Shevchenko has no relation to their structure.

Details: The day before, Shevchenko called on the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, to enter into a dialogue with Russia. He also stated that he wrote a letter to the newly elected US President Donald Trump with a request to help stop “Ukraine’s descent into a dictatorship”.
At the same time, in May 2023, the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, admitted that People’s Deputy Shevchenko conducted secret negotiations with the self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Oleksandr Lukashenko, at the request of Ukrainian special services.
Yusov indicated that “the specified person is not an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.”
He emphasized that all citizens of Ukraine, especially people’s deputies, should be responsible for the interests of their own state and not make public statements that could harm national security.
Yusov’s direct speech: “Any step towards justifying the occupier, attempts to shift responsibility from the aggressor to the victim is an obvious incitement of the enemy. Such actions should receive an adequate assessment from the competent authorities.”
