In Saratov, Russia, the debris of a downed drone fell in an industrial zone in the Zavodsky district of the city, said the governor of the Saratov region, Roman Busargin, in the morning of November 8. In particular, an oil refinery with an oil pier on the Volga is located in this area of the city.
According to the Russian service of Radio Liberty, a source of the local TV channel “Saratov 24” said that the fragments of the downed drone probably got into the fuel oil tank on the territory of the refinery and into one of the special installations. The interlocutor of the channel could not clarify whether there was a fire.

Residents of Saratov also reported a fire in the area of a local refinery after a drone attack.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia reported on 17 downed and intercepted drones over the territory of four regions. According to the agency, six drones were destroyed over Voronezh and Saratov regions, four over Belgorod region, and one more over Bryansk region.
On November 6, Russian Dagestan reported the first drone attack on the region and the destruction of a UAV over the Caspian Sea. The Ministry of Health of Dagestan stated that a 16-year-old girl was slightly injured due to falling debris.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, called the attacks on the oil refinery a response to the strikes by Russian troops on Ukraine’s energy sector.
