The US Ministry of Defense announced that by January 20, the end of Joe Biden’s presidential term, they intend to use all remaining funds for programs to support Ukraine. It is about 6 billion dollars.

“We still have about $2 billion left in the USAI (Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative) that we can use. So you’ll continue to see packages roll out over the coming weeks until the end of this administration. This is in line with how we have done it in the past. That’s something we’ve been doing pretty regularly — almost every week,” Deputy Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said at a briefing.

She said the Defense Department also has about $4 billion left over from previously committed PDAs, which the president has told Congress he will spend or use before the end of his term.

“When it comes to the president’s reduction packages, some things can come in days and weeks. Some items in these packages take longer. It depends on what we have in our warehouses,” she explained when asked about concerns that the weapons would not arrive in time for January 20.

Donald Trump won the US presidential elections, the change of administration and transfer of power should take place on January 20.
