“California is ready to fight. I have just called an emergency special session to help strengthen our legal resources and protect our state from any illegal actions by the new Trump administration,” the California governor said.
According to him, the state authorities are ready to confront the administration of Donald Trump on many important issues — from fundamental civil rights through reproductive freedom to the fight against climate change.
“We refuse to turn back the clock and allow our values and laws to come under attack,” Newsom concluded.
