The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhiy Tyhiy, refused to comment on The Wall Street Journal’s publication about a possible plan from the team of the US President-elect Donald Trump regarding Ukraine, noting that these are only “someone’s opinions” and do not reflect the “official position”, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported late on the 7 November, writes UNN.

We do not see any reason or sense in discussing those things that are circulated in the media, which do not really reflect the official position or proposals. This is just someone’s opinion spread in the media. We see no point in giving them more weight and gravity than they have. The office of Donald Trump, who won the presidential elections in the USA, spoke about possible actions regarding Ukraine. According to the WSJ, which cited three sources close to Trump, one of the plans is for Kyiv to promise not to join NATO for at least 20 years, and in exchange for Washington to continue supplying Ukraine with weapons to deter further Russian attacks. According to the publication, all proposals provide for the “freezing” of the war – in this way, Russia’s capture of approximately 20 percent of the territory of Ukraine can be fixed, DW reports.

Earlier, advisers to the ex-president of the USA, Keith Kellogg and Fred Fleitz, proposed to deprive Ukraine of American support and arms supplies until Kyiv agrees to peace talks with Russia. Ukraine can try to return the lost territories, but it will have to be done diplomatically, the WSJ noted.
