The deputy head of the Office of the President Oleg Tatarov made at least 9 trips to Moscow after the occupation of Crimea and the beginning of Russian aggression in the east of Ukraine, according to the investigators of the project “Schemes” (“Radio Liberty”), referring to the data of Tatarov’s flights.
In the period between 2017 and 2019, when Tatarov was practicing law, he visited Russia three times in 2017, four times in 2018 and twice in 2019. Since air traffic between Ukraine and Russia was suspended after 2014, Tatarov made most of his trips through Minsk.
Tatarov’s last such trip to Moscow took place on April 22, 2019 — the day after Volodymyr Zelenskyi won the presidential election.
In addition, “Schem” journalists report that in 2015, Tatarov visited the occupied Crimea. He crossed the “Dzhankoy” checkpoint on June 6, and returned back on June 8 through the “Armyansk” checkpoint.
Journalists asked Oleg Tatarov to comment on his trips to Russia, but he did not respond.
