In the Shade restaurant in Poltava, a fight broke out between men, one of whom allegedly defended his girlfriend. Among them was a police officer.

This was reported by the police of the Poltava region.

Journalists spoke with the girl Olena, who went to a restaurant with her boyfriend on November 2.

A group of men sat next to them, one of whom approached Elena and offered to go with them. She said she refused because she had a boyfriend, but the man said he was “not interested”.

The girl says that after that her boyfriend stood up for her, but the men beat him right in the restaurant. An ambulance took him with a broken nose, concussion and blood in the kidneys.

Olena claims that among the men who beat her boyfriend was Oleksandr Pavlyuchenko, the owner of the Alfa-Capital group of companies, and Oleksandr Pereli, deputy chief of the Kyiv regional police department.

She also blames the institution’s staff, who allegedly did not want to call the police and the “ambulance”. Marianna Soliman, the owner of the restaurant and deputy of the Poltava City Council, apparently refused to give the police video from the surveillance cameras, but, as “Poltavshchyna” writes, she later stated that she was threatened.

The police of the Poltava region began to investigate intentional minor injuries (part 1 of article 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). In addition, the investigation is conducted by the State Bureau of Investigation.

The police leadership ordered an official investigation, and the policeman who was present during the fight was suspended.

Earlier, an aggressive incident took place in the “Sens” bookstore and coffee shop in Kyiv, as a result of which a girl named Kateryna Kosetska filed a complaint with the police. The incident happened on November 2, when Kateryna pointed out to men who spoke Russian that the institution asked them to speak Ukrainian. According to her, she did it politely, but instead received an aggressive reaction — the men started mocking and threatening her.
