The former head of the Odesa regional TCC, Yevhen Borisov, who is accused of illegal enrichment for hundreds of millions of hryvnias, tried to register a disability group for himself.
This is reported by the Glavkom publication with reference to the materials of the pre-trial investigation.
According to the case file, the former soldier has been in pretrial detention for about 15 months. At the same time, during the last 9 months, his lawyers took measures to obtain Borisov form No. 088/o and further refer the suspect to the medical and social expert commission (MSEK) for registration of disability.
Also, according to the investigation, Borisov is currently dismissed from the Armed Forces due to his health condition and removed from the military register. This means that if a preventive measure not related to detention is applied to him, the former head of the Odesa Regional TCC can leave Ukraine.
As reported, on July 24, 2023, employees of the State Bureau of Investigation detained Yevhen Borisov, the former head of the Odesa Regional Center for Recruitment and Social Support. The agency said that during the investigation, they collected evidence that testifies to the illegal enrichment of the former military commissar.
Earlier, Borisov was dismissed from his post after the media disclosed information that his family had purchased millions of dollars worth of real estate and cars on the Spanish coast during the full-scale war.
On July 22, the former Odesa military commissar was charged with illegal enrichment of hundreds of millions of hryvnias and deliberate evasion of duty.
In December 2023, the real estate of the Odesa military commissar in Spain – a villa and office premises – was seized. Also, the court seized 9 plots of land, two houses, home ownership, two apartments and 1/3 of an apartment, 6 luxury cars.
On May 30, 2024, the court ordered the former head of the Odesa regional TCC and JV to be placed in custody with the possibility of a bail of 140 million hryvnias.
