One of the countries expressed its readiness to become a sponsoring state under the Geneva Conventions in order to provide assistance to Ukrainians who are in Russia.

This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga.

According to him, Russia is holding thousands of Ukrainian prisoners of war, civilian hostages and deported children, denying international observers and doctors access to them.

Sybiga emphasized that during the conference in Canada, one of the countries expressed its intention to become a patron state, which will help ensure proper treatment of Ukrainians in Russia and facilitate their return.

Earlier we wrote that a joint communique was approved in Montreal (Canada) as a result of the conference on the human dimension of the Ukrainian peace formula. The participating states undertook to return all Ukrainian citizens captured and deported by the Russian occupiers.

We will also remind you that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiga said that Russian representatives should be invited to the second peace summit in order to develop the principles of lasting peace.
