The Security Service of Ukraine detained “polite expert” Serhii Belashko in the Kyiv region, who was actively promoting Kremlin narratives on Viktor Medvedchuk’s TV channels.
The detention was the result of the investigation, which revealed that Belashko was a member of the FSB agent network coordinated by Serhiy Stepanov, the editor-in-chief of the PolitNavigator Internet site.
The investigation revealed that after the start of the full-scale war, the SBU had already exposed this hostile network, detaining two of its members. Stepanov, who is hiding in Crimea, was suspected in absentia. After February 24, 2022, Belashko tried to avoid justice by hiding in various places in Ukraine.
This detention indicates the continuation of the SBU’s work in exposing the cells of the Russian agency, which actively spreads hostile information narratives in Ukraine.
