Michael Scheuer, who was fired from the Disney company, is suspected of a number of computer crimes. In particular, he changed the information about allergens in the menu, endangering the health of visitors to the company’s establishments.
The complaint filed by the US Department of Justice states that Michael Scheuer committed a series of computer crimes against “Company A” after he was fired. 404 Media, citing Scheuer’s lawyer, reports that it is a Disney resort.
In his role at Disney, Scheuer was responsible for creating and publishing menus for the entire restaurant portfolio. In doing so, he used Menu Creator software, which was developed by a third party for the exclusive use of Disney. Scheuer was well versed in this program and was aware of its vulnerabilities. This is what he took advantage of after he was fired for misconduct.

The company was attacked for three months. Scheuer manipulated the menus of Disney-owned and operated restaurants. His most secure attacks would change the font in the menus, making them unreadable. In some cases, Scheuer inserted profanity into the menu. It even got to the point that the man manipulated information about allergens in the menu.
Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of his activities. Disney has already faced a lawsuit this year after a woman died of an allergic reaction after eating a meal at the company’s restaurant in Florida that the waiter claimed should have been free of dairy and nuts. This case was not related to the activities of Scheuer.
