The Security Service of Ukraine has completed a pre-trial investigation into the Russian propagandist Valery Demchenko, better known by the pseudonym Lyra Frost.
According to the SBU, the woman involved was born in Luhansk region, had Ukrainian citizenship, but then left for Russia and married Anton Tkachev, a member of the so-called State Duma of the Russian Federation.
After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Demchenko publicly supported Putin’s aggressive regime.
During speeches on propaganda TV channels, she called for the capture of Kyiv. In addition, the criminal raised funds for the Russian invading army and even gave a speech at a round table in the so-called State Duma of the Russian Federation, where she argued the alleged necessity of a war against Ukraine.
On the basis of the evidence received, the SBU investigators submitted to the court materials accusing the perpetrator under three articles of the Criminal Code:
- Part 1 of Art. 111-1 (collaborative activity);
- Part 1 of Art. 111-2 (assistance to the aggressor state);
- part 2, part 3 of Art. 436-2 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
Since the accused is on the territory of Russia, comprehensive measures are being taken to bring her to justice.
We also wrote that in Ukraine, in the Sumy region, a former deputy of the Shostka city council was detained for treason.
We also reported that a man was detained in Kharkiv who was the head of a Russian company and also helped the enemy launch spy satellites.
