Volodymyr Velychko, a member of the Supervisory Board of Centernergo, warned about this.
“Starting next week, forecasters predict a significant decrease in temperature. For energy experts, this means that more significant measures will be needed to balance the energy system, such as emergency assistance from operators in neighboring countries. But before applying emergency aid, it is necessary to use one’s own resources as much as possible. In the event that NEC Ukrenergo fails to maintain the balance of the power system, blackout schedules will be applied,” Interfax-Ukraine quotes the official as saying.
Volodymyr Velychko also noted that after the decrease in the daily average temperature in October, the energy system is already experiencing an increase in consumption, and its peak has shifted from 20:00 to 19:10.
