In the Transcarpathian region, work continues on the opening of new car checkpoints, in order to relieve already existing routes and help business.
This is reported by the Ministry of Reconstruction.
“In the near future, it is planned to open the checkpoint “Luzhanka” for the movement of empty trucks in order to unload the single cargo point with Hungary “Chop-Zahon”, said the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine – the Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba.
According to him, in 2024 it is planned to open a checkpoint for passenger transport “Velika Palady”, which will work on a temporary infrastructure.
Already next year, the construction of a new large checkpoint “Bila Tserkva” will begin, for the launch of which the Romanian side is already completing the construction of a bridge over the Tisza River.
And the next stage in Transcarpathia will be the reconstruction of the terminals of the checkpoint “Uzhhorod”. Separation of cargo and passenger transport should increase the throughput capacity for trucks by 30%.
In the meantime, Poland has restored the operation of the customs clearance system after the failure that occurred on September 5.
On the Polish-Czech border, two checkpoints were closed indefinitely due to flooding, which made their work impossible.
