The head of the German special staff for Ukraine, Christian Freuding, called NV the needs of the Armed Forces that Germany will primarily satisfy.
Major General Christian Freuding, who heads the special staff for Ukraine at the German Ministry of Defense, considers air defense equipment to be the most important weapon for Ukraine.
He stated this in an exclusive interview with NV.
“We closely cooperate with our Ukrainian partners and therefore know very well what is most necessary at this time: first, — Anti-aircraft defense, second — anti-aircraft defense and third — anti-aircraft defense,” he said.
According to him, there is also a need for countermeasures against glider aerial bombs, which from a military point of view are a huge challenge for the Armed Forces.
Freuding emphasized that Germany will continue to provide Ukraine with decisive support in the future.
“This cannot and has never been in doubt. For example, this year, in addition to the 6.7 billion euros of support already planned for 2024, we will implement additional projects worth several hundred million euros,” he said.
In addition, Berlin, according to the general, has already planned 4 billion euros in military support in addition to the support that the planned G7 loan can provide.
