Lubinets appealed to a number of state bodies due to the beating of a 15-year-old student in Khmelnytskyi

The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Dmytro Lubinets, appealed to a number of state bodies over the beating of a 15-year-old student in Khmelnytskyi.

According to him, the employees of the school were obliged to be responsible for observing the norms, rules of living and discipline in the dormitory.

“It is known that the shift of workers in the dormitory is carried out according to the schedule from 18.00 to 22.00. The beating by one student of another happened around 11:00 p.m. Another student informed the school staff about the incident. After that, they arrived at the place together with the ambulance and the police,” he wrote in a telegram.

In order to find out the circumstances of the case and its qualifications, Lubinets directed inquiries to the Main Directorate of the National Police in Khmelnytskyi region, appealed to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine to conduct an official investigation into the negligence of school employees who did not ensure the appropriate level of student safety.

The ombudsman also informed about a request to the National Social Service Service of Ukraine with a request to take urgent response measures.

In the Khmelnytskyi region, a student of a vocational school was hospitalized after being beaten by another student. He is in the hospital, his spleen was removed.

The incident happened on October 2 at around 11:00 PM in the dormitory. According to the investigation, a conflict arose between a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old student, as a result of which the older boy seriously injured the younger one. The police opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional grievous bodily harm).

Earlier in Lviv Oblast, first-year students were beaten in one of the schools. The police have already opened a criminal case.

On November 8 of last year in Zhytomyr, a young man beat up an employee of the Military Commissariat who handed him a summons in the middle of the street.

Law enforcement officers opened criminal proceedings regarding the fight that took place in Zhytomyr between a civilian and mobilized an employee of the Zhytomyr Military Commissariat. Both of them contacted the police.
